About the event

Nothing Follows its Spontaneous Course brings together works by Axel Anderson, Ankita Bhat, Sihan Tara Chen, Greg Kmieciak, Zoe Maxwell, Olivia Moon, Maggie McCreery, Meri Sanders, and Xinchun Xie. Using furniture as a central motif, the exhibition explores how the contemporary home, once a space of intimacy, has been reshaped by technology, excess, and systems of efficiency.

The artists push familiar domestic objects beyond function, transforming them into unstable, often impractical forms. Through material experimentation and disruption, they question the aesthetics and expectations of the home.

The exhibition frames the domestic as a space of tension and contradiction where comfort becomes uncanny, and asks what remains of human presence, vulnerability, and connection in an increasingly automated environment.

On view at Maison Mono from 5/15 - 6/3
