Unwind:
The Space Between
03.20.25 - 05. 08.25
Unwind: the space between explores the radical act of stillness in a fast-paced world. Featuring three New York-based artists, the exhibition juxtaposes structure and fluidity, solitude and connection, inviting viewers to embrace release.
Drawing from Dansaekhwa, Daniel Park’s meditative brushwork on raw burlap embodies repetition as self-healing. Miwa Neishi’s ceramic sculptures, infused with calligraphic fragments, blur language and abstraction, surrendering to the clay’s quiet agency. Sana Maqsood’s immersive installation, Waves of Us, translates brainwaves into shifting sound and visuals, capturing fleeting moments of synchronicity.
Through painting, sculpture, and sound, Unwind invites reflection on balance, renewal, and the beauty of letting go.

Daniel Park
Daniel Park draws inspiration from the Dansaekhwa movement, embracing repetition, materiality, and unconventional techniques as a form of mindfulness and self-healing. His work reflects a philosophy of acceptance—revisiting what already exists rather than seeking something new. Using natural burlap canvases, he honors the tactile qualities of older materials, working with found supplies like aged blue paint, white acrylic, and pen ink.Exploring the tension between togetherness and isolation, Park’s fluid, medium-agnostic practice allows concept to dictate form. His work centers on relational art and contemplative spaces, creating pieces that actively engage viewers in thought and reflection.

Miwa Neishi
Miwa Neishi’s work celebrates the practice of writing, drawing inspiration from journaling and the expressive brushstrokes of calligraphy. In this exhibition, she explores the concept of “unwind,” evoking a sense of unbecoming or returning to the fundamental essence of form. Her ceramic pieces incorporate partial shapes of Japanese letters, conjoined into abstract compositions that emphasize the visual experience of the material itself—free from entanglement and complexity. Much like searching for the “om,” her practice is a journey of self-discovery, seeking the point where fired clay and the mind of unbecoming intersect.

Sana Maqsood
Sana Maqsood is a multidisciplinary designer whose work bridges art, technology, and human connection. As the founder of the sustainable jewelry brand SOOD, a Senior Designer at Amazon, and a professor at NYU, she explores how data-driven interactions can create immersive and meaningful experiences.
Waves of Us is an interactive sonic installation that translates brain waves into sound and visuals, capturing the fleeting moment when two minds synchronize. This project is rooted in Maqsood’s extensive research into biofeedback, where she experimented with various technologies—including machine learning voice models for emotional detection, facial recognition APIs, pulse oximeters, and EEG headsets—to explore how physiological responses can shape shared experiences. After extensive testing, the Muse EEG headset emerged as the most precise tool for translating participants' mental states into a real-time audio-visual experience.By leveraging biofeedback, Maqsood creates an ephemeral, multisensory interaction that highlights the beauty of presence and connection, leaving participants with a deeper awareness of the intangible forces that bind us together.
